SARA M. BOURAEE, DPM

Dr. Sara Bouraee was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and was influenced most in her life by her father who is a vascular surgeon. She attended New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York and then relocated to Philadelphia to complete her surgical residency at Drexel University College of Medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital.

In 2015, Dr. Bouraee founded a private practice Hampton Roads Foot And Ankle. Dr. Bouraee's vision is to become the provider of choice for quality podiatric surgical/medical services and recognized for extraordinary patient care experiences for acute and chronically injured patients and their families.

Her areas of special interest include small joint replacement, ankle arthroscopy, endoscopic plantar fasciotomy, lower extremity fracture repair, minimally invasive procedures, hammertoe and bunion surgery, and flat foot reconstruction.

Dr. Bouraee continues to enjoy living and working in the Hampton Roads area because of the small-town feel and great weather. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, boating, and playing on the beach with her family.


Meng Liu, DPM

Meng Liu, DPM, AACFAS

Dr. Meng Liu, DPM, received her doctorate in podiatric medicine from Temple University in 2020. She completed a 3-year hospital-based residency at Roxborough Memorial Hospital in 2023, focusing on podiatry. She also earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from George Mason University.

Dr. Liu joined has a special interest in the treatment of sports medicine, wound care, limb salvage, foot and ankle trauma, deformity, and reconstruction. She is passionate about holistic patient care and uses her communication skills to build long-lasting patient trust. She is committed to the health and well-being of all her patients and has an acute interest in podiatry surgical techniques and advancements in the field.

Born in China, Dr. Liu came to the United States for college and worked as a paralegal for several years before entering the medical field. In her free time, Dr. Liu enjoys traditional Chinese painting and music, as well as needle crafts, baking, hiking, and traveling.


Carl Belock , DPM

Carl Belock, DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Carl Belock obtained his undergraduate degree from Loyola University Chicago with a B.S. in Biology, Cum Laude. He then worked for a private health care company for several years before entering podiatry school.

He graduated from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, earning his DPM in 2002. He spent 2 years of residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in downtown Chicago, Illinois. This was followed by a third year of residency at Westview Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Belock then moved to Virginia and spent the next 19 years in private practice in Mechanicsville and Ashland. Although he performed a variety of surgeries, he was best known in the area for both conservative and surgical care of diabetic foot wounds and infections.

Most recently he changed offices and joined Hampton Roads Foot and Ankle Specialists in Williamsburg, Virginia.


Sonya Wali, DPM

Dr. Sonya Wali completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology and Spanish. She then relocated to Philadelphia, PA where she obtained her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. She continued her surgical training during her time in residency at Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, NJ where she served as chief resident. During her residency training, Dr. Wali was exposed to a plethora of pathologies and ailments of the foot and ankle in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her residency training shaped her into a well-rounded practitioner concerning all pathologies of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Wali is passionate about getting her patients back on their feet and strives to keep her patients healthy, one step at a time. She seeks the best treatment plan for her patients, while also working with her patients to ensure that successful management and treatment of podiatric issues is achievable.

Her areas of interest include trauma surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and wound care. Dr. Wali is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. In her spare time, Dr. Wali enjoys doing yoga, working out, and cooking.

Completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Spanish. Then she obtained her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Wali is passionate about getting her patients back on their feet and strives to keep her patients healthy.
