Dr. Sara Bouraee was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and was influenced most in her life by her father who is a vascular surgeon. She attended New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York and then relocated to Philadelphia to complete her surgical residency at Drexel University College of Medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital.

In 2015, Dr. Bouraee founded a private practice Hampton Roads Foot And Ankle. Dr. Bouraee's vision is to become the provider of choice for quality podiatric surgical/medical services and recognized for extraordinary patient care experiences for acute and chronically injured patients and their families.

Her areas of special interest include small joint replacement, ankle arthroscopy, endoscopic plantar fasciotomy, lower extremity fracture repair, minimally invasive procedures, hammertoe and bunion surgery, and flat foot reconstruction.

Dr. Bouraee continues to enjoy living and working in the Hampton Roads area because of the small-town feel and great weather. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, boating, and playing on the beach with her family.


Jon Houseworth, DPM

Jon Houseworth, DPM, AACFAS

Dr. Jon Houseworth was raised in rural central Illinois and received his Bachelor's in Integrative Biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. While there, Dr. Houseworth was co-captain of the men's cross country and track teams. His passion for running greatly influenced his desire to become a podiatrist. Dr. Houseworth attended Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine, followed by a surgical residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL. During residency, Dr. Houseworth received extensive training in all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery with a focus on Diabetic Limb Preservation/Wound Management and Sports Medicine. Dr. Houseworth was twice voted by his co-residents as “resident of the year,” and served as Chief Resident. Since completing residency, Dr. Houseworth has been a full-time faculty member of Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine teaching a variety of courses to the medical students in the classroom including anesthesiology and surgical seminars. In the clinical setting, Dr. Houseworth was associate residency director for the Mount Sinai (FL) Podiatry Surgical Residency Program teaching residents and students on hospital rounds and in the operating room. Dr. Houseworth was voted “Clinical Faculty of the Year” on multiple occasions by the students at Barry University. Dr. Houseworth has participated in multiple studies devoted to diabetic limb preservation and wound management including co-authoring multiple publications and performing national lectures on the topics.

Dr. Houseworth's passion is patient care and improving the lives of any patient he treats. His areas of special interest include sports medicine, plantar fasciitis and orthotics, hammertoe and bunion surgery, diabetic limb salvage and wound management, small joint replacement, ankle arthroscopy, and lower extremity fracture repair. In his free time he enjoys being outdoors running, golfing, and spending time with friends and family.


Dr. Shruti Vyas

SHRUTI VYAS, DPM, AACFAS, DABPM

Dr. Shruti Vyas received her Bachelors of Science in biology from Stony Brook University in New York. She obtained her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida. She returned to New York to complete her Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center in Queens, New York. Her three year training consisted of complex diabetic and trauma induced limb salvage, wound care, emergency medicine, and inpatient management along with minimally invasive forefoot surgery. Dr. Vyas’ training also enhanced her training in reconstructive foot and ankle affiliated with NYU Orthopedics at Jamaica and Flushing Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Vyas completed her training serving as Chief Resident in her final year of residency.

She is determined to provide the best quality foot care for her patients while involving her patients to be active in implementing and understanding the treatment plan. Her interests include minimally invasive surgery, bunions and hammertoe repair, lower extremity trauma, wound care and limb salvage. She is currently board qualified in American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

In her free time, Dr. Vyas enjoys watching the sunrise at the oceanfront and biking along the boardwalk. She also enjoys reading, painting and cooking with her family.


Dr. Byun

SUN BYUN, DPM

Dr. Byun completed her undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry and earned her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine Degree from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. She then went onto complete her residency training at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, where she served as Chief Resident. During her residency, she received extensive training in limb salvage, diabetic foot and wound care, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. She is dedicated to providing education and treatment of foot and ankle disorders and her goal is to exhaust all the conservative treatment options prior to considering surgical intervention. Her areas of special interest include Achilles tendon repair, hammertoe and bunion surgery, limb salvage and diabetic wound management and lower extremity fracture repair.

In her spare time, she enjoys watching musicals, traveling, spending time with her friends and family and binge watching shows.


Dr. Daria Piotrowski

DARIA PIOTROWSKI, DPM

Dr. Daria Piotrowski was born and raised in Queens, New York. Growing up in a family of nurses and doctors, she knew that she wanted to be involved in health care from an early age. She received her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. She completed a three year residency program at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles, California where she was exposed to a variety of foot and ankle conditions. Following her training, she worked in a private practice in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. In August 2020, she joined Hampton Roads Foot and Ankle Specialists.

Dr. Piotrowski is a board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. Her goal is to provide attentive care that will help her patients get back to doing what they enjoy and/or love. Dr. Piotrowski treats various conditions of the foot and ankle, including but not limited to, heel pain, sprains, tendonitis, plantar warts, diabetic foot care and ingrown toenails.

Dr. Piotrowski enjoys writing, playing the piano and, along with her husband and children, exploring the beautiful state of Virginia.
